Performance Information
At St Thomas CE Primary School, we are proud of the achievements and progress made by our pupils.
We believe that school performance information should always be considered alongside the context of the community a school serves. St Thomas supports a higher-than-average proportion of disadvantaged pupils, pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and pupils who speak English as an Additional Language (EAL).
In 2025:
-
44.5% of pupils were eligible for Pupil Premium funding.
-
26.4% of pupils spoke English as an Additional Language.
-
15.9% of pupils received SEND Support.
-
5.5% of pupils had an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
-
64% of pupils lived within the 20% most deprived areas nationally.
National assessment outcomes provide useful information, but they do not always tell the whole story. Schools serving communities with similar levels of disadvantage and pupil need often face comparable challenges and may achieve outcomes that differ from national averages.
For this reason, we evaluate performance using a range of measures, including:
-
pupils' progress from their starting points;
-
attainment in statutory assessments;
-
attendance and engagement;
-
personal development and wellbeing;
-
inclusion and support for vulnerable learners; and
-
readiness for the next stage of education.
St Thomas CE Primary School joined the Learning Accord Multi Academy Trust (LAMAT) in June 2025 and continues to work closely with Trust leaders and partner schools to improve outcomes and opportunities for all pupils.
