At St Thomas CE Primary School, we are committed to supporting children's emotional wellbeing alongside their academic achievement. We use the myHappymind programme throughout school to help children develop resilience, self-awareness, confidence and positive mental health habits.

What is My Happy Mind?

​

myHappymind is a whole-school mental health and wellbeing programme, rooted in neuroscience and positive psychology. It teaches children practical strategies to:

• Understand how their brain works

• Manage their emotions

• Build positive relationships

• Develop resilience

• Celebrate their strengths

• Maintain positive mental wellbeing

• Celebrate - Recognising strengths and building self-esteem

• Appreciate - Developing gratitude and positive thinking

• Relate - Building healthy relationships and empathy

How We Use myHappymind at St Thomas

Children take part in regular myHappymind sessions which are woven into our wider PSHE, RSE and personal development curriculum. The programme complements our Christian vision and values by encouraging children to:

• Believe in themselves

• Show kindness and respect

• Build positive relationships

• Persevere when challenges arise

• Develop confidence and independence

 

Supporting Wellbeing at Home

Parents can access the myHappymind Parent App, which provides activities, discussion prompts and resources to reinforce learning at home and strengthen family wellbeing.
