Our Learning Community
Our Community Hub is made up of local schools, Chestnut Children’s Centre and Ashbrow Partnering Together and we work together in partnership to support local children and adults, from birth to the elderly.
We invite residents, groups and agencies who live and / or work in this area to get involved in our work. If you would like more information please contact your local school or contact the Hub Coordinator, Anna Eldred at email@example.com
Our area is very mixed in nature and involves a vibrant community, working closely with all of our schools schools. The North Huddersfield Learning Community is dedicated to providing a range of quality opportunities, with successful outcomes, for pupils of all abilities and backgrounds, whilst providing support for our families.
Our organisation serves North Huddersfield and is led by a partnership of seven schools, that work together to ensure our children receive every opportunity and a positive experience of learning. The North Huddersfield Learning Community is dedicated to providing a range of quality opportunities, with successful outcomes for pupils of all abilities and backgrounds, whilst providing support for our families. Our partnership is ambitious, dynamic and inspirational in its approach.
The partner schools include Ashbrow School, Birkby Infants and Nursery School, Birkby Junior School, Christchurch Academy, Fixby Junior and Infants School, St Thomas CE vc Primary School, and North Huddersfield Trust School.
By sharing experience and expertise, we increase our capacity to meet the needs of pupils and their families. Pupils regularly have opportunities to work and learn alongside children from other schools, ensuring children develop not only academic, but social skills for life outside of school.
By sharing resources, we are able to offer a wider range of enrichment activities – everything from skateboarding to horse-riding, bee-keeping to rock climbing.
Our staff benefit through professional learning networks which support the development of an ethos and culture of collaboration amongst all of our schools, which will have a clear impact on the lives of children and young people.
The intended outcomes for The North Huddersfield Learning Community will be:
Continuing support for the programme of enrichment activities
Opportunities to buy in high quality services to deliver across the schools
Development of excellence in the delivery of all aspects of the curriculum
The sharing and applying of systems, policies and practice
Collaboration not only of staff but pupils to develop a shared appreciation of other cultures and views
A Sense of Community
In which members of the schools, both staff and pupils are supportive of one another.
Taking every opportunity to work together with our local community.
A Sense of Purpose, Fun and Vibrancy
Encouraging positive attitudes within our schools and community.
Our Local Environment
A strong understanding that the school and local environment must be maintained and developed to inspire our young people.
A strong sense of togetherness that encourages calm, purposeful activity and helps to create a welcoming and warm ethos.
A community in which everyone will be encouraged to explore and fully achieve their potential.
A community where respect will be assumed, required and encouraged of and for everybody and everything.
Our organisation serves North Huddersfield, and features a group of local schools that are working together to ensure that our children receive every opportunity and experience of learning.
