Coronavirus Guidelines

Updates from Mrs Meade

COVID arrangements in school from 1 April 2022

As of today...

Lateral Flow Tests are no longer freely available however if you choose to pay for a test for your child and the test is positive, they should isolate for 3 days and not come to school.

The updated guidance states that: "Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend." We are interpreting this to mean please err on the side of caution and be sensible. If your child feels unwell, and in particular if they have a temperature, please keep them at home until they feel better.

In school we will continue to encourage good hand washing and we will use air monitors and outdoor breaks to regulate classroom ventilation as much as possible.

Staff will no longer be asked to take twice weekly tests, some may still opt to test if they are symptomatic but his will be a personal choice.

I appreciate that this is a big change and may make some families feel anxious but all schools are facing this new way of working.

Thank you as always for your ongoing support.
