Welcome to Reception's Learning Page. Each week on Tapestry you will recieve a weekly challenge for you to enjoy with your child. Once completed don't forget to upload to Tapestry for the class to share. The children love to talk about and share what they have been doing.
If you are currently working at home or just want some extra home learning, you will find everything you need here or on Tapestry. If you have any problems accessing Tapestry please let your teacher know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.

If you are at home for longer period of time, waiting for a test result or staying safe in quarantine, you will find your weekly learning here. You will need to complete a maths activity for the week. This half-term we are focusing on 2D shapes, money and additon and subtraction using numbers to 10
Your teacher will add this to your online journal in Tapestry along with any supporting documents.
You can read to yourself, read to a family member or listen to someone else read, but try to read every day.
A full digital reading library is available on Oxford Owls and you can access as many books as you like. In October our digital subsrciption begins and your teacher will help you choose books at an appropariate level!
If you prefer traditional books you will be given a book each Monday, please return it on a Friday.

In class we are working through Phase 2 and Phase 3 phonics starting with 's', 'a' and 't'. You will find helpful videos shared on Tapestry or search You Tube for the Jolly Phonics songs for each sound.

For the next few weeks we are recognising and writing our names. Can you write the name of anyone else in your family?
Our current Talk for Writing book is The Mixed-Up Chameleon. Talk about the story and using the initial sounds,write a list of the names of all the animlas you see in the book.

In Reception we will be looking at colours associated with Bonfire Night, Diwali, colour mixing, colour change across the seasons and emotions and colours. What colours do you know? What's your favourite colour?
