For the next few weeks we are looking at writing poems. This week we are basing our poems on our senses- touch, smell, taste, sight, sound. Can you write a poem about your senses? Can you go to other parts of the house or your garden and write another one and see if your senses change?

Maybe you could try some shape poems? Here are some ideas -https://www.jamiethomasconsulting.com/post/day-67-word-art-creative-ideas-for-home-schooling

Our Topic and other learning

TOPIC HOMEWORK

Our topic this half-term is Romans. In this topic we find out lots about what life was like in Roman times and how the Romans changed Great Britain.

To find out more there are lots of great video clips on the Romans on -  https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zqtf34j and loads of interesting facts on- http://www.primaryhomeworkhelp.co.uk/Romans.html

At home you could:

  • Create a question and answer flip book or a Roman fact page
  • Design a Roman shield or standard (flag)
  • Find out 5 important facts from the Roman Empire and put them in a timeline
  • Draw a map of the UK and label some key Roman towns and cities.
  • Make a model  or draw a picture of a Roman settlement and label the different parts.
  • Make up some Roman maths using the Roman numerals we have looked at in class.
  • Design some Roman Top Trumps
